SEÑORA THORNTON
Born in Managua, Nicaragua, Betty Thornton is a native Spanish speaker. She graduated from the University of Texas in San Antonio and continued to earn her state certification in teaching Spanish.
​
With over 22 years experience as a Spanish teacher and tutor, Betty is highly-skilled in teaching Spanish levels I, II, III, and IV and in teaching conversational Spanish to both elementary students and adults. Additionally, Betty is also very well seasoned in teaching the formats for both Keystone Homeschooling and Texas Tech 2 curriculum.
Betty has played a key role in developing the curriculum for her department multiple times and has led teams in the Pan-American Spanish competition to 5 gold medals. She has transformed numerous failing students into consistently "A" students through her skills, patience, teaching style, understanding, and ability to communicate in a manner that "just makes sense."

She specializes in online Spanish tutoring, conversational Spanish, and is available for in-home Spanish tutoring in Collin County, TX for students at all levels of Spanish. Her online Spanish courses can be accessed anywhere in the United States via Zoom and/or Google Meet.

My online Spanish tutoring welcomes all ages and levels of Spanish students. All sessions are scheduled for 1 hour but may include extra time if available and needed. Classes are held face-to-face virtually via Zoom or Google Meet. Private and group sessions are available. Rates are dependent upon frequency, length of term, and number of participants (book a call for details). If you have a group, group discounts are available.
